FISH MASALA

We can make this fish masala in around 30 minutes.

PROCESS

Roasted onion, red chili and corriander seeds

Blended ingredients
Mustard, curry leaves, turmeric and spice powder
Sauted onion, green chili, tomato and c.leaves
Fish cooking in sauted ingredients and blended ingredients with tamarind juice

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2kg fish
  2. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  3. 1tsp mustard seeds
  4. 1 onion thinly chopped
  5. 2 spring curry leaves & 2 slitted green chili
  6. 2 tomatoes finely chopped
  7. Pinch turmeric
  8. Little squeezed tamarind juice for taste
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Pinch all spice powder

FOR MASALA

  1. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  2. 1 onion thinly chopped
  3. 10 dry red chili
  4. 1-2tbsp corriander seeds
  5. 1 cup freshly grated coconut

METHOD

  1. Heat the oil in a pan and add dry red chili and corriander seeds then cook until golden. Remove from the fire and add grated coconut and little water in a blender then blend to make a fine paste.
  2. Add oil in the pan and mustard and sputter. Then add chopped onion, green chillies and curry leaves into the pan and saute it until it becomes golden. Add tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  3. Add the grated masala, tamarind juice and water. Allow it to boil when oil floats on the top add the fish for cooking.
  4. Allow to cook for 5 to 7 minutes in a medium flame then lastly add a pinch of all spice powder and stir carefully. Enjoy with chappati and boiled rice.
