So many sweets are made in HOLI. SHAKARPARA is an Indian snack popular in Western India, especially in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka. It is traditionally enjoyed during HOLI, Diwali. I am sharing SHAKARPARAS here.
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp powdere cardamom
- pinch turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 1/4 cup water
Take a bowl and add ghee, turmeric, all purpose flour and knead with little water and make a dough. Then roll into large flat circles
Cut these pooris into desired shape. I cut it diamond shape.
Heat the pan in a medium flame. Add remaining oil for deep frying when the oil becomes sufficiently hot carefully put diadmons in the oil.
Deep fry the diamond cuts, when it becomes golden take it from the oil and remove the excess oil using a kitchen towel.
Take another pan and add sugar and water in it. Heat the pan in a medium flame.
heat it till the syrup is at the desired consistency.
Add the deep fried dimon cuts in the sugar syrup mix it well and coat. Lastly sprinkle the cardamom powder in it.
