YAM CURRY

Lot of christians are observing lent . In our state every one likes different types of fish curry. In the lent days we can make a vegetable curry which tastes like fish curry. It’s a hot spicy dish.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 cup sliced yam
  2. 2 tbsp red chili powder
  3. 1 tbsp corriander powder
  4. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  5. 2 tsp chopped ginger
  6. 1 tsp chopped garlic
  7. 2 spring curry leaves
  8. 1/2 tsp fenugreek seed
  9. 1 tsp istard
  10. Salt to taste
  11. 2 tbsp coconut oil
  12. Brindle berry (kudampuli)

METHOD

IMG_20190317_101006Cook the yam with water then drain it

IMG_20190317_103248Heat a clay pot with 2 tbsp coconut oil and add mustard, fenugreek, curry leaves and let them sputter.

IMG_20190317_103453.jpgAfter add ginger garlic and saute to reduce the raw taste then add red chili powder, corriander and turmeric then saute for a while, add 3 piece brindle berry and salt.

IMG_20190317_104037Pour 3/4 litre water, When It boils add the cooked yam in it and cook it for five to seven minutes. Then enjoy with rice.IMG_20190317_105336
