I am very happy to prepare some snack every evening. Only few are vegetables added in this vada. We can use different vegetables to make this vada.


Carrot, cabbage, green chili, onion, gingergarlic paste, corriander leaves, chili powder, asafotida, turmeric and salt.


Mix all thinly chopped vegetables, chili, and gingergarlic paste, corriander leaves. Thoroughly mix well for the ingredients to mix together. Add one cup oats, 4 tbsp rice flour, 2 tbsp besan flour, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin and salt then mix together in the vegetable.

Then make round shape with hands with half inch width. If you didn’t get the shape properly add one egg also. I am not adding egg. Heat a heavy bottom pan with oil. Carefully place the vadas in the oil. Reduce the flame as it is evenly cookes.

Wait for 2-3 minutes. Then flip the other side. Cook it the same way. Then take the VADAS in a kitchen towel or napkin to remove excess oil . Serve with ketchup.img-20190218-wa0008558970207.jpg


  1. 1 cup carrot chopped
  2. 1 cup cabbage
  3. 1 cup onion
  4. 1/2 cup spring onion
  5. Some corriander leaves
  6. 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  7. 1 tsp chili powder
  8. Salt
  9. Oil for frying


  1. Above mentioned vegetables thinly chopped.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste.
  3. And mixed with oats, rice flour and besan flour.
  4. Add one tsp chili powder, pinch asafotida, pinch turmeric powder and salt. Sprinkle little water.
  5. Knead well.
  6. Make lemon sized balls
  7. Flatten into half inch thick layer.
  8. Heat the oil and deep fry in oil.

Note:- Saute the vegs in little oil and make a batter with flour and oats then dip and fry. This is another option.
