HEALTHY SARDINE (MATHI) FISH FRY

 


Today I got this recipe from the news paper, A famous doctor shared the recipe for this healthy fish fry for kidney patients and all of us. Sardine has a lot of benefits. It has OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS and extra advantages. So I am sharing this recipe.

Less ingredients and you need to spend less time .

1/2 kg sardine

                                                                1 sliced onion

                                                 1 tbsp green pepper corn

                                                               4 garlic cloves

                                                      1/4 tsp turmeric powder

                                                                   Salt to taste

Clean and wash the sardine then make small slits on it and apply turmeric powder and salt . Keep aside for five minutes then wash it off.

Apply Finely blended onion, green pepper, garlic cloves, pinch turmeric and salt on the fish. Leave it for fifteen minutes.

Spread a little oil in a heavy bottom pan and place the banana leaves on it then keep the sardine one by one on the banana leaf and close with a lid.

                                           Fry both sides in a low flame.

                   It has an excellent taste. Try and enjoy this healthy sardine fry.

  1. May this be cooked with canned sardines or does it require fresh sardines?

      In Kerala fresh sardines available so I cooked with fresh sardines that is too tastier than canned. If you have available canned sardines try it Petra.
