Every evening children do not like the same snack. They need variety meal. This need makes us do different types of experiments. I always like the color of beetroot. This vegetable health wise is good, that also tempts me to make different recipe’s. One of my successful experiment is BEETROOT HALWA.
DIFFICULTY – EASY
TIME – 45 MINUTES
1 big beetroot
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup fresh cream (100 ml)
7 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp raisins
Cooked beetroot, 3 tbsp sugar, one table spoon ghee in a pressure cooker with low flame to allow two whistles and switch off the flame. If needed blend beetroot, blend it for smoothness.
Mix flour into two cups of water and make a batter
Stir the batter continuously with three table spoon sugar and one tbsp ghee in a heavy bottomed pan and cook it by stirring then add cooked beetroot
and fresh cream.
Stir till it starts leaving the sides of the pan.
Lastly sprinkle raisins. Remove and spread it on a greased plate. Keep aside. After cooling cut into required shape.
