TAPIOCA BALLS

Tapioca is starch extracted from cassava root. This plant is coming from Brazil. In Kerala every home attached with different type of food with tapioca. Taste of tapioca is too good but it is a starchy food that is the cause.

Normally boil and strain the water when using do not create any problem.

First peeled one tapioca then chopped thinly and wash it off. Then place the tapioca into the boiled water with turmeric and salt. Cook well and strain. Then mash it off.

INGREDIENTS

1 large onion thinly chopped

4 green chilli thinly chopped

1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped

1/2 cup curry leaves chopped

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

Salt & oil

METHOD

Heat one table spoon oil in a pan and saute all ingredients for two or three minutes.

Add saute all the ingredients into the tapioca and mix it well. Then make balls like lemon size. Keep aside.

FOR BATTER

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 tbsp cornflour for crispy

A pinch turmeric

Salt

Mix the ingredients with water to make a thick batter.

Heat the pan with oil for frying. Dip the tapioca balls in the batter and add it into the oil. Reduce the fire, until it comes to golden brown scoop it up from the oil.

Enjoy semi hot. In the monsoon season we can try this.
