Avalosunda is a traditional sweet. It is a common dish in central travancore. In olden days christian marriage ceremony featured avalosunda as a star studded sweet.
- Raw rice 1cup
- Grated coconut 2 cup
- Jaggery 3/4 cup
- Sugar 3/4 cup
- Cumin 1 tsp
- Lemon 3 drops
Boil the jagerry and sugar to make a thick solution. Keep it aside.
Soak Rice four hours. Then turn into flour in a grinder. Add coconut and cumin then mix it well. Then dry it in a heavy bottom pan with slow fire, if it turn into golden colour and a sweet smell will comes from the pan, switch it off.
Pour the sweet solution into the dried ingredients and add 3 drops of lemon juice into the mix and stir well.
Take equal prepotion to make small balls equal to the size of lemons.
