Seasoned butter milk


Seasoned butter milk or moru kachiyathu is a simple curry. In kerala most of the houses use it every day. It sooths the stomach and helps in digestion.


Curd                                       – 1/2 litre

Coconut                                – 2 table spoon

Cumin seed                          – 1/2 tea spoon

Green chilli                          – 1

Sliced ginger                       – 1/4 tea spoon

Garlic                                   – 2 clove

Small onion                        – 4 no

Mustard                                – 1/2 tea spoon

Fenugreek                          – 1/2 tea spoon

Red chilli                            – 2 no

Curry leaves                       – 2 stem

Salt                                       – to taste

Oil                                       – 1 table spoon


Grind Coconut, green chilli, cumin seeds, garlic, ginger and turmeric well. Add curd, salt, just grind.

Heat oil in a kadai add mustard and cumin to sputter, then sliced onion, red chilli and curry leaves and cook till they become golden in colour reduce the flame and pour butter milk in it. Stir gently, do not allow to boil. Remove from fire and pour in a vessel.

Mix 1/2 tea spoon honey with the egg yolk and one table spoon milk powder. Mix it into a paste and apply. Cleanse it with water after 20 minute.
