Beetroot Pickle

Eating Beetroot has many benefits. Some of them are:

Recipe for Beetroot pickle:


  1. Red Chlli-2 table spoons
  2. Green chilly- 1
  3. Ginger-1 small piece
  4. Garlic clove- 7
  5. Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
  6. Fenugreek powder-1/4 teaspoon
  7. Asafotida- one pinch
  8. Mustard-one teaspoon
  9. Salt for taste
  10. Vinegar-1 tablespoon
  11. Veg.oil or gingelly oil-4table spoon


Beetroot cut into one inch slices. Heat the oil and place chopped beetroot for semi frying and set aside. In the same oil, place fenugreek, mustard let it sputter add ginger, garlic clove, greenchilli stir well, then gingergarlic paste, chilli powder, asafotida, salt and vinegar saute well 30 seconds. Add one cup of water and beetroot saute well and remove from fire with semi gravy. Add little sugar for more taste.
